Dragons and Rubbish in Trutnov, the portoguese group

AN ARTICLE FROM THE WORKSHOP

From Tuesday 21st and until Friday 24th Trutnov was the location of 60 Czech teachers. The group also included a teacher from the United Kingdom and one from Norway.

Tuesday was the arrival day. The teachers had a lot of expectations for the workshop, and were quite eager to start. But on arrival day we had to have small coming together party. We were served quite good food, and something to drink with the food. The teachers were already twinning during the evening.
It was a very nice welcome to Trutnov and the Hotel Adam.

On Wednesday we were starting quite early, some had had a long night. We had a quick walk to ZŠ Komenského. Here we had a brief presentation of eTwinning and the workshop from Petr Chalus. The teachers for the workshop presented themselves using the tools in eTwinning. The two international participants had also a brief presentation. After lunch we were divided into groups and we made our way to ZŠ V domcích. Now we should start work on our project and through using the training portal of eTwinning. It was decided that our group, school from Portugal should join partnership with a school from Slovakia. Since we were the international groups the working language should be English. While working, the excellent teachers made a journey through different web tools, including the tools in the eTwinning portal. After a long hard day work we went walking back to our hotel, during the walk we took pictures for our project: Pictures of rubbish and dragons. The evening was still young after the walkJ. This was a good day, we learned a lot.


Thursday morning came fast. We walked our way from the hotel to the school. We continued our work on the project, but also included lessons from the workshop. The day went on, and we enjoyed the lessons and the work despite that we got exhausted. It was a warm sunny day, and hot, hot classrooms. In the evening we went a on a barbecue in ZŠ Komenského. Everything was excellent, except that during the evening and night the rain was pouring down. The sky really opened itself. But the setting with live music, pig on the grill and something to drink the evening was perfect.

On Friday we made our last finish on our project, and presented the project for the rest of participants.

We can conclude that arranging a workshop like this is a great way of spreading the eTwinning thoughts. We get to use the tools, and actually make a project. That is a great experience when you are going to go home and start up. Hopefully the participants like the workshop so much that they go home, spread the news to their school and start a project.
